This is an elegant vintage handmade Persian Koliai runner that is known as a "gallery size" for its large size and the ratio between its length and width.  It can be used as a wide runner in a hallway or entryway or as an area rug for narrow spaces such as in front of a couch or a bed. The chic small repeating diamond pattern in copper and ivory, black and rust creates the backdrop for a stunning central floral medallion in sapphire, champagne, coral and sand, with tiny flowers within the petals. These colors are echoed in the beautiful border and rich floral corners with intricate finely woven details in the same beautiful shades, creating a very luxurious rug in both look and feel.  Hand-knotted in the 1980's, this runner is in mint condition, has a soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. All colors are made with only vegetable and other natural dyes.
