This is an elegant vintage handmade Persian Koliai runner that is known as a "gallery size" for its large size and the ratio between its length and width.  It can be used as a wide runner in a hallway or entryway or as an area rug for narrow spaces such as in front of a couch or a bed. The chic small repeating diamond pattern in an almost copper shade of sand with ivory, black and coral red creates the backdrop for an eye-popping central floral medallion in exquisite details and colors. Rich shades of crimson, sapphire, emerald green, violet, carnation pink, hunter green, goldenrod and copper form a gorgeous flower in full bloom . These colors are echoed in the beautiful border and thick rich floral corners with intricate finely woven details in the same beautiful shades, creating a very luxurious rug in both look and feel. This design is often referred to as Victorian.  Hand-knotted in the 1980's, this runner is in mint condition, has a soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.
