This is a stunning handmade Persian Koliai runner of the finest quality. Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this runner is made of fine quality wool with a soft, full pile that is great for high traffic and will last generations. The runner is in mint condition and hand-knotted with a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) for very fine and crisp lines. The bold geometric pattern that runs the length of the runner is hand-knotted in vivid colors that seem to burst from the rug, made of only natural and vegetable dyes. The gorgeous red background color is an elegant setting for the accent colors that create a series of diamond medallions down the center of the rug. Royal blue, heather gray, charcoal, camel. ivory and plum create the medallions, which are each adorned with a star flower and four tribal flowering plants. Star flowers and other small geometric motifs dot the open field, and lead to the striking border, a repeating geometric garland of flowers on the vine in the same beautiful colors of the runner on an ivory backdrop, which really pops, lightening and brightening the rug. This is in turn framed by thin rows of charming small colorful tribal paisleys known as botehs. Size: 3'7"x9'10"
