This fine quality vintage Persian Koliai runner was handmade with an allover tribal & geometric design with intricate details that fill the rug with pattern and intrigue.  The most special feature is the charming peacock with pride of place in one of the central medallions. The rug is made with fine quality wool that is sturdy and great for high traffic areas and will continue to last generations.  A soft strawberry red background is  the setting for the highly detailed accents and geometric motifs that are hand-knotted with tribal artistry.  Three diamond medallions run down the center of the runner and serve as the focal points for the allover design.  The top and bottom are camel and the center is a deep cherry red. They are adorned and surrounded with small tribal motifs in lemonade pink, shell pink, silvery sky blue, silver, pink coral, burgundy, taupe, rust and countless other colors.  The central red medallion has the star of the runner, a beautiful peacock in silvery sky blur, orange, silver, coral, hot pink and purple.  The border is another striking feature, framing the rug with four rows of small geometric motifs - a pink and blue repeating diamond motif which leads to lilac rows of small tribal paisleys known as botehs in all the colors of the runner, which frame a thick ivory row of intricate geometric motifs that resemble hieroglyphics.
