This is an elegant vintage handmade Persian Koliai runner that is known as a "gallery size" for the ratio between its length and width.  It can be used as a wide runner in a hallway or entryway or as an area rug for narrow spaces such as in front of a couch or a bed. The chic small repeating diamond pattern in taupe and pink, sky blue and black creates the backdrop for an eye-popping central floral medallion in violet, rose and pale yellow. These colors are echoed in the beautiful border and thick rich floral corners with intricate finely woven details in the same beautiful shades with the addition of turquoise, shell pink, sky blue, sapphire and ivory.  Hand-knotted in the 1980's, this runner is in mint condition, has a soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.
