This is a striking vintage handmade tribal Koliai that is sure to enliven any space.  Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this rug is made of fine quality wool that has a sheen to it in the light. It has a soft full pile that is great for high traffic and will last generations. The bold geometric  pattern that runs the length of the rug is hand-knotted in vivid colors made of only natural and vegetable dyes.  The strawberry red open field is a glorious contrast to the row of bright sapphire geometric medallions that run the length of the rug and are echoed along the sides before the border. The sapphire diamonds have a flower motif within them in ivory, sage and red, and they are edged with sage, camel, shell pink and black.  The border is a complementary repeating geometric garland of flowers on the vine in  royal blue with sapphire, pink, sage and champagne accents, framed by thin rows of champagne with charming small blue  & pink flowers on the vine. This rug has some areas of imperfection in the pile, which you can see from the last photo. These are not easily spotted and make this rug a great price.
