This is an elegant vintage handmade Persian Koliai that can be an area rug or a "gallery size" runner in a large hallway or entryway. The chic small repeating diamond pattern of sand, silver and ivory is punctuated with small pink flowers, which creates the backdrop for a stunning central floral medallion in exquisite details and colors and the most spectacular corners and border.  The gorgeous tribal flower in full bloom at the center of the rug is hand-knotted in Tiffany blue and lemonade pink with sky blue, heather gray, white, sand and pale lavender details. This flower rests on a deep, lush violet with thin pink and silver edges.  These colors are echoed in the corners with intricate, whimsical geometric details  The border is a thick ribbon of watermelon that has a geometric pattern with small, adding luscious raspberry, mint green, and peach to the color palette.  All of this is framed by an enchanting border, rows of violet and white with colorful flowers and other small motifs surround the thick raspberry frame of geometric larger flowers on t he vine in the pale blues and pinks, greens and grays of the rug.  This creates a very luxurious rug in both look and feel.  Hand-knotted in the 1960's, this rug is in mint condition, has a notably thick and soft pile that is cushy underfoot, can withstand high traffic and will last generations.
