This is an elegant vintage handmade Persian Koliai runner that is known as "gallery size" for its large size and the ratio between its length and width. It can be used as a wide runner in a hallway or entryway or as an area rug for narrow spaces such as in front of a couch or a bed. The chic small repeating sand-colored diamond pattern with ivory, violet blue and coral details creates the backdrop for a stunning central floral medallion and the most spectacular corners. The gorgeous flower in full bloom at the center of the rug is hand-knotted in azure blue with coral, ivory, silver, violet blue and pale peach accents. These colors are echoed in the corners with intricate details of elegant flourishes and small flowers in sapphire, ballet slipper pink, silver, taupe, ivory and white. The border is a thick ribbon of violet blue that has a geometric and floral pattern, framed by two ribbons of dusty rose with charming blue, pink and white flowers on the vine. This creates a very luxurious rug in both look and feel. Hand-knotted in the 1980's, this runner is in mint condition, has a soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. All colors are made with only vegetable and other natural dyes. Size: 5'1"x9'11"
