This is a top quality handmade vintage tribal Kazakh accent rug in perfect condition.  Hand-knotted by expert Afghan weavers, this rug is made from soft wool with a sturdy tribal weave that will continue to last generations and can withstand high traffic.  The geometric, nomadic design has intricate and charming details, including leaf and flower motifs.  Made with only natural dyes, the rug is colorful with a muted vibe that only comes from vintage rugs made with natural dyes.  The three central medallions at the heart of the rug are surrounded by smaller medallions. These motifs are common in Afghan Kazakh rugs. Known as guls, they represent natural elements such as lakes and mountains, flowers and trees.  Here they are hand-knotted in a wide array of beautiful colors: sapphire blue, yellow, sky blue, rose pink, grass green, denim blue and cranberry.  These same colors form the complementary designs that create a garland of tribal flowers on the vine in the pale yellow border, itself surrounded by thin blue rows with small geoemtric repeats.
