This is a truly spectacular handmade vintage Persian Kashmar of the finest quality in mint condition. Hand-knotted by master weavers, this rug is made from the highest quality Manchester wool, also known as 'kork', that comes from the softest parts of the lamb. The pile is as smooth as velvet, thick and sturdy enough to withstand high traffic and last for generations.  It is handmade with superior craftsmanship and only vegetable and other natural dyes. The traditional floral and medallion design is exquisitely woven in intricate details by hand.  The colors of the rug are rich and elegant and the combination of greens and blues is hard to find.  A rich royal blue provides the canvas for the exquisite accents in bright teal green, Tiffany blue, fern green, mint green, azure blue, pale shell pink, copper, ivory, lemonade pink, pale peach and countless others.  The spectacular circular flower medallion with its mint green petals radiates out in all of these colors, picked up again in the matching corners. The blue open field is swirling with floral sprays and bouquets of flowers on the vine, delicate vases and intriguing urns, with white and ivory accents highlighting them throughout. The border is a particularly special and decorative feature of this rug, complementing the design with the same brilliant colors and style.  The thick royal blue frame has a sapphire and white garland surrounding the elegant floral details, surrounded by azure blue rows of smaller flowers on the vine.
