Yellow Flowers

This is a rare find and an exquisite piece- a handmade antique large Persian Kashan Dabir of the finest quality in almost perfect condition. This rug is a collector's piece: hand-knotted in the 1920s by master weavers and made with superior craftsmanship, a high knot count (or KPSI, knots per square inch) and only vegetable and other natural dyes. The traditional floral and medallion design is exquisitely woven in intricate details by hand on a royal blue background with a spectacular medallion of cranberry, azure blue, ivory, aquamarine, fern green, dusty rose, olive and pale gold, along with elegant floral sprays and bouquets that intertwine and fill the rug with these colors along with carnation pink, turquoise, spearmint, walnut, copper and countless others, all with the unique patina that only comes from antique rugs made with vegetable dyes.  This rug was likely woven for aristocracy and could have easily been made for a palace.  The floral details throughout are unique for their incredible array of colors that go beyond the typical colorway for this style of rug.   This rug has notably thick beautiful border that uses the same rich colors for a large floral and vine motif that creates the perfect frame.  The rug has a low pile throughout and in some areas the pile is lower (see last photo). The rug is otherwise in perfect condition, with no repairs, holes, tears or patches.  It is a stunning and rare gem that will add elegance and style to any home.  Size:  11'x14'3"
