This rug is known as a Kashan Dabir, a highly sought-after antique woven by Dabir, a master weaver from the late 1800s. This rug is in mint condition - truly pristine for a rug that is more than 100 years old. Manchester wool, a very high quality wool, was used to weave this Kashan and it has an extremely high KPSI (knots per square inch) as well, as evidenced in the photo of the backside of the rug. The colors and patterns on this rug are of a quality and an elegance that is rare to find. You can get lost in the intricacies of the shapes and designs and the beautiful color palette of rose, pink, ivory and cornflower blue on a midnight blue background. This is a museum-quality piece.
