This is a truly spectacular handmade vintage traditional Persian Kashan of the finest quality in mint condition. Hand-knotted by master weavers, this is a signed piece (see photo) made from the highest quality wool that comes from the softest parts of the lamb. The pile is as smooth as velvet, thick and sturdy enough to withstand high traffic and last for generations.  It is handmade with superior craftsmanship and only vegetable and other natural dyes. The traditional floral and medallion design is exquisitely woven in intricate details by hand.  The colors of the rug are rich and elegant, with a midnight blue backdrop and accent colors of shell pink, pale sky blue, periwinkle blue, ocean blue, ivory, marigold, bright orange, turquoise blue, olive green, cranberry and countless others.  The spectacular circular flower medallion radiates out in all of these colors, picked up again in the matching corners. All of the colors continue throughout the blue open field, swirling floral sprays and bouquets of flowers on the vine.  The border (where you can find the signature of the weaver) is a perfect compliment to the rug, a midnight blue frame with a gorgeous garland of flowers and leaves and elegant flourishes, itself framed by periwinkle and shell pink rows of smaller flowers on the vine.  Size: 9'7"x12'9"
