This is a handmade fine quality vintage traditional Persian Kashan accent rug/scatter rug in a hard-to-find and versatile size. Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this rug was made with fine quality wool and is in mint condition with a full soft pile. Perfect for entryways, kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and bedsides, this "mini rug" can withstand high traffic and will last generations. It can also be used as a tapestry or draped over a couch or chair. A traditional floral and medallion design is intricately woven in midnight blue and ivory on a lush red background. The floral sprays and bouquets that elegantly adorn the rug are hand-knotted in pale sky blue, shell pink, copper, sapphire blue, fruit punch, fern green, silver, walnut, olive green and countless other colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. The charming border consists of a copper frame of pastel small flowers on the vine surrounded by pink and gray edging. Note that this rug has abrash, the natural variation in dyes that occurs only in vintage handmade rugs that use vegetable dyes. It is most noticeable in the red background, where a lighter shade is interspersed, making the rug truly an authentic one of a kind handmade gem. Size: 2'6"x4'4"
