This is a stunning handmade vintage Persian rug of the finest quality in mint condition. Hand-knotted in the 1950s by master weavers, this rug is made from high quality wool that comes from the softest parts of the lamb. It is handmade with superior craftsmanship, a high knot count (or KPSI, knots per square inch) and only vegetable and other natural dyes. The traditional floral and medallion design is exquisitely woven in intricate details by hand on a lush crimson red background with a spectacular medallion of azure blue, ecru, ocean blue, shell pink, lemonade pink, mint green, raspberry, copper, orange, bronze, and countless other colors that appear prominently throughout the rug. The delicate flourishes and floral details are breathtaking. And the colors have the unique patina that only comes with handmade vintage rugs that use natural dyes. This rug was likely woven for aristocracy and could have easily been made for a palace. Floral sprays and bouquets fill the red open field, leading to the corners that match the medallion perfectly before the rug's beautiful border, hand-knotted in ocean blue and framed by thin rows of ivory and azure blue. All of these layers have glorious garlands of flowers on the vine in all of the rug's stunning colors.
