This is an exquisite and rare handmade antique Persian Kashan that would also serve as a beautiful tapestry or wall hanging.  Hand-knotted in the 1950s, this rug is in mint condition.  This gem is handmade with extremely fine craftsmanship, a high knot count or KPSI (knots per square inch) and a beautiful picturesque pictorial design nestled within a stunning display of flowers on the vine, sprays and bouquets.  The colors are made from only natural dyes. They are extraordinarily vibrant and burst forth from the midnight blue backdrop.  The central medallion is a pastoral scene with mountains and water and beautiful architecture.  Several smaller scenes dot the landscape of the rug, each with a unique image.  Exotic birds and other animals appear throughout the rug amid cabbage roses and delicate branches, and flowers of every color and variety. The countless intricate floral and vine designs and the windows onto detailed architectural motifs are hand-knotted in pink coral, sky blue, pale pink, sapphire, lime green, mint green, hunter green, sand, bone, charcoal, crimson, wine, moss, olive, peach, copper and  countless other colors, punctuated by ivory and white. You have to see this rug to appreciate its incredible beauty.   Size: 4'5"x7'
