This is a stunning very fine quality handmade traditional Persian Kashan in mint condition. Hand-knotted in the 1970s by master weavers, this rug is made from high quality wool that comes from the softest parts of the lamb, creating a soft and full pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations. It is handmade with a high knot count (or KPSI, knots per square inch) for precise details and only natural dyes. The traditional floral and medallion design is woven by hand in intricate details on a rich, deep royal blue background with a central medallion of azure blue, ivory and cherry red concentric layers, highly adorned with small flowers on the vine in a spectacular array of colors: midnight blue, mint green, marigold, copper, olive, turquoise, lemonade pink, orange and countless others, all of which continue throughout the rug's rich blue open field. The delicate flourishes and floral details are breathtaking.  Floral sprays and bouquets symmetrically continue in all of these colors, leading to the corners that perfectly echo the medallion in cherry red, ivory and azure.  The rug's beautiful border, hand-knotted on cherry red, has a glorious garland of flowers on the vine in all of the  rug's colors, framed by azure rows of small charming flowers on the vine. This rug is truly a timeless classic that will elevate any space.
