This knockout antique handmade Persian Karajeh has light distress in just the right ways to give it an authentic well-loved look. The classic geometric Karajeh design has rows of medallions in exquisite detail and color. Hand-knotted in the 1960s, this rug was made with fine craftsmanship and a sturdy pile that despite the low pile in some areas, can withstand high traffic and will last generations. Vivid and vibrant colors are all made from only vegetable dyes and they have the patina that you only find in antique rugs made with natural dyes. The cherry red background is a dramatic contrast for the finely detailed snowflake-like motifs in sapphire, powder and azure blue, carnation pink, fruit punch turquoise, orange, midnight blue, merlot, ballet slipper pink and countless other colors, all punctuated by bright white accents. The small flowers and other complementary but unique tribal motifs in the navy blue border are handwoven in all the same brilliant colors and add even more interest to this stunning rug. The fringes are intact but delicate in several areas. Size: 7'8"x11'5"
