This handmade vintage Persian Joseghan runner is both floral and tribal and notable for its wide array of colorful flowers in an intricate allover diamond design. This is a fine quality mint condition runner, hand-knotted in the 1980s with a full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. It even has thin leather straps sewn on the back to help keep the runner from slipping, a sign of quality for Persian rugs. The runner's intricate floral bouquets and sprays are hand-knotted in rich tones on a lush red backdrop. This is a luxurious setting for orange, emerald green, pale sky blue, taupe, camel, mocha, hunter green, charcoal, almond, and gold, all punctuated by bright white. There is a delicate bright white flower at the center, with mocha, emerald and gold accents. The border has its own unique floral and vine garland in white, red and black on a mocha backdrop, framed by red, green, taupe, black and plum thin stripes. This runner is a garden come to life in colors that are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Note the slight abrash, or natural variation in dyes that occurs in vintage rugs handmade with vegetable dyes, apparent in the red backdrop on one end of the runner. See last photo for close-up. These minor variations provide further authenticity for this truly one of a kind handmade rug. Size: 3'8"x9'11"
