This is a vintage handmade Persian Hosseinabad runner in mint condition.  Its tribal and geometric allover design has brilliant colors and intricate details in lattice-like and nomadic motifs.  The full, thick, plush and soft pile is made with a sturdy village weave that is cushy underfoot, great for high traffic areas and will continue to last for generations.   The bright strawberry red backdrop hosts hunter green lattice-like patterns surrounded by intricate flower and geometric details in jewel tones that seem to pop off the rug -  cornflower blue, royal blue, white, shell pink, carnation pink, pale peach, bright orange, silver, burgundy and countless other vivid colors, all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The charming border adds some whimsical elements, a series of rows of tiny colorful flowers on the vine, pink and white polka dots on a blue stripe, and a magenta frame with bright pink edges and a series of repeating motifs that echo those of the runner in color and style. This rug has some areas of abrash, the natural variation in dyes that occurs with vegetable dyes in handmade vintage rugs.  It adds a layer of authenticity to this one of a kind jewel-toned gem.  Size: 3'6"x9'10"
