This handmade vintage Persian Hosseinabad runner has an intricate tribal and floral allover design with extraordinary details and truly stunning colors. It is in mint condition, handmade in the 1980s with a soft and notably thick, full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The allover design is a geometric lattice-like pattern with highly detailed small floral and tribal motifs.  The beautiful backdrop is an elusive shade that has natural variation in dyes, known as abrash, an amazing feature that is unique to handmade rugs that use vegetable dyes.  The color appears violet, mauve or lavender, depending on the light. The red and shell pink lattice design provide a frame for the  abundant details throughout in turquoise, sky blue, orange, yellow, shell pink, cornflower blue, white and countless other colors.  The border lightens and brightens the runner with its zigzag pattern of white framed by azure blue ribbons, all of which are decorated with small geometric motifs in all the colors of the runner.  Size: 3'8"x10'1"
