This vintage handmade Persian Hosseinabad runner is a brilliant sapphire blue with an allover tribal & floral design. Hand-knotted in the 1970s, this runner is in mint condition. Made of fine quality wool, this village-made tribal rug has a sturdy, thick pile that is great for high traffic areas and will last generations. The repeating geometric and floral motifs in vivid colors create an intricate allover design, framed by ribbons of pink with tribal flowers and charming designs dancing throughout. The backdrop is a rich bright sapphire blue which provides a vivid contrast to the details woven in azure blue, cornflower blue, carnation pink, ballet slipper pink, rose, watermelon, turquoise and white. The borders of white, black, periwinkle, pale peach, watermelon & sapphire are adorned with all of these colors and more, The overall effect is a sea of pinks, blues and red that appears almost purple in the light.
