This colorful, fine quality Persian Hosseinabad rug/small runner was handmade with an allover tribal & geometric design with intricate details that fill the rug with pattern and color.  The rug is made with fine quality wool that is sturdy, soft and great for high traffic areas and will continue to last generations. The bright red background is a cheerful setting for the highly detailed accents and geometric motifs that are hand-knotted in brilliant shades of emerald green, turquoise, purple, pink lemonade, peach, lime green, denim blue, sky blue, and countless other colors.  Additional accent colors in the central medallion include peach coral, teal, lemon yellow and dramatic black.  All colors are made from only natural dyes.  The lattice-like pattern that fills the rug is known as a classic fish design, in which the small colorful curls are meant to resemble fish.  The white border lightens and brightens the rug, framing it with intricate repeating colorful geometric motifs that resemble hieroglyphics.
