This vintage Persian Heriz has spectacular tribal details and brilliant colors. It was handmade in the 1980's in a classic Heriz design with a prominent central medallion that is rather uniquely white. In addition to all of the tribal motifs, there is also an occasional animal figure which is quite rare for Heriz rugs. Can you find them (hint: photo above)? A lush carpet of cherry red creates the canvas, bordered by sapphire & midnight blue and brought to life by the large white diamond medallion with its coral center and incredible array of details in raspberry and rust, copper and gold, sapphire, steel blue, camel, pale pink and countless other colors. The border has its own unique larger format floral and vine motif with tiny florets at the very edge. Each layer is resplendent with vivid jewel tones that dance in tribal patterns and intricate geometric motifs. All the colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Great for high traffic, this rug has a very dense and sturdy, super soft and thick pile that will last generations. Note the edge on one side is uneven/irregular, giving it that authentic charm of a truly handmade one of a kind rug. Size: 7'6"x10'8"
