This vintage Persian Heriz was handmade in the 1960's in a classic Persian rug design. It is a fine quality rug, made with high quality wool that creates a thick, soft pile that is great for high traffic and will continue to last generations.  There are thin leather straps woven onto the back of the rug to help keep it in place, an indication of the superior craftsmanship of the rug. The geometric pattern with a striking central medallion is a hallmark of Heriz rugs.  The vibrant colors are extraordinarily vivid, especially for their age, and all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The watermelon/coral colored diamond medallion is the focal point of the rug, with its heather lavender and ivory center and a pistachio green frame.  Ivory corners lighten the rug, with intricate small tribal motifs in peach, gray, burgundy, walnut and black dancing throughout the rug. The black border is host to a beautiful geometric pattern in all the colors of the rug, with pistachio, watermelon, coral and lavender really popping in contrast.  Size: 4'11"x6'4"
