This is a stunning vintage 1970's handmade Persian Hamedan runner in mint condition. This runner is fine quality with a high quality wool that has a sheen to it and is soft underfoot. It is hand-knotted with fine craftsmanship. The detailed floral designs are inspired by antique Persian Sarough designs and they are hand-knotted throughout the cherry red backdrop -- an elegant array of bouquets and floral sprays in azure and sapphire blue, pale yellow and gold, ivory, copper, royal blue, walnut, camel, moss green and other elegant colors all made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. The complementary borders are three thin ribbons of small charming flowers and other tribal motifs in the same colorway. The colors have that unique patina of vintage rugs as well as some abrash -- the natural variation that only comes with antique handmade rugs made with vegetable and other natural dyes. This runner has a traditional Persian Sarough pattern that is also timeless, often described as Victorian. This runner can withstand high traffic areas and will last generations. Size: 3'8"x10'2"
