This is a vintage handmade Persian Hamedan runner with stunning colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Its tribal, intricate geometric allover design with colorful small floral details in lattice-like and nomadic motifs is a hallmark of rugs from this region. The full soft pile and sturdy village weave is great for high traffic areas and this runner will last generations. The watermelon pink backdrop hosts sapphire blue and mint green lattice-like motifs with intricate details in carnation pink, fruit punch, peach, plum and white. The border and corners are ivory, which lightens and brightens the rug. These are decorated with charming flower and vine motifs in the same colors. Hand-knotted in the 1980's, this rug has slight color running in a few areas of the border and corners, and is otherwise in mint condition. See last photo for close-up.
