This striking vintage handmade tribal Persian Hamedan runner is made of fine quality wool with a notably thick, soft pile that is cushy underfoot, great for high traffic and will last generations.  The runner was knotted by hand by expert tribal weavers in a classic bold geometric pattern with three prominent medallions in the center of the runner, surrounded by intricate tribal and flower details. The precise details and vivid colors seem to burst from the rug, made with only natural and vegetable dyes.  The background color is best described as watermelon or Amaranth pink, a bright setting for medallions in dark eggplant, with accents in silver, white and shell pink, edged with silver before the pink open field. Decorative tribal flowers on the vine and bouquets, along with other geometric designs fill the pink backdrop with gorgeous designs in the same pink and gray color scheme, leading to the dramatic dark eggplant corners with their own charming geometric motifs in the same pinks and silver.  All of this is framed by a watermelon pink border with a charming floral and vine garland, surrounded by thin silver stripes with repeating designs in all the colors of the runner.  Size: 3'5"x9'6"
