This unique handmade fine quality vintage Persian Hamedan runner was hand-knotted in the 1980s and is in mint condition.  This is a tribal runner, handmade by expert tribal weavers who have been hand-knotting rugs for centuries.  The rug is made with high quality wool that creates a soft, supple, full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. It could also be used as an elegant tapestry or wall-hanging.  The most unique feature of this special piece are the four wild beasts in the center, seemingly on the hunt with their open mouths and their copper coats with red and ivory accents that pop against the dramatic midnight blue background.  What whimsical exotic animal do you see?  The surrounding design is vibrant, colorful and tribal with striking central medallions in cherry red and azure blue with intricate details in copper, sapphire, orange, ivory and silver.  Exotic plants and flowers in rustic colors adorn the midnight blue backdrop.  The complementary geometric border is a row of azure blue and then a thicker frame of red, each with geometric repeating motifs in all of the colors of the rug.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  This piece is sure to make a statement!  Size: 4'4"x9'10"
