Yellow Flowers

This vibrant vintage handmade tribal Persian Hamedan runner has a classic geometric design with a row of intricate medallions bursting with color and detail.   Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this rug was made with fine craftsmanship and a sturdy full pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations.  The rich and vivid colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The strawberry red background has slight natural variations in the dye, creating a backdrop that appears slightly lighter or darker as you move through the rug. Known as abrash, this variation is unique to vintage rugs handmade with vegetable dyes and it creates a truly one of a kind rug. The finely detailed geometric medallions, known as 'guls' that often represent natural elements such as lakes or mountains, are hand-knotted in beautiful shades of blue and pink.  Royal blue, shell pink, heather gray, lavender, sapphire, fruit punch, silver, plum, peach and white both create and adorn the medallions and the red open field, filling the rug with small geometric motifs, tiny tribal animals and flowers.   The bright royal blue corners have similar geometric designs in similar accent colors, all framed by a border of tribal flowers on the vine in all of the rug's brilliant colors.  The runner is in truly mint condition, great for kitchens and hallways, bedrooms, and anywhere with high traffic that could use comfort and color underfoot.  Size: 3'7"x10'
