This gorgeous handmade vintage Persian Hamedan runner has an intricate tribal and floral allover design with extraordinary details and truly stunning colors. It is in mint condition, handmade in the 1980s with a soft, full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The allover design is a geometric lattice-like pattern with highly detailed small floral and tribal motifs. The beautiful backdrop is sapphire blue, with slight natural variation in dyes known as abrash, an amazing feature that is unique to handmade rugs that use only vegetable dyes. The color appears violet, royal blue or sapphire depending on the light. The azure blue lattice-like design provides a frame for the abundant details throughout in turquoise, shell pink, cornflower blue, roe, coral, charcoal, gray, white, silver and countless other colors. The border is perhaps the most spectacular feature of this runner, made up of 9 thin layers of color and pattern, thin rows in shades of pink and blue with small repeating geometric motifs around a dusty rose frame with charming bright flowers in all the accent colors of the rug. This rug is fine quality and if you look closely, you can find the date hand-knotted by the weaver. Size: 4'1"x10'10"
