This handmade vintage Persian Hamedan runner is tribal and geometric with rich colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes, and many hard to find shades of green.  It is a fine quality rug, hand-knotted in the 1980s with quality wool that gives it a supple and soft full pile.  It can withstand high traffic and will continue to last for generations to come.  The runner's intricate tribal floral designs revolve around a delicate central medallion of khaki, sea green and teal, with sky blue and watermelon pink, fruit punch, ivory, pale shell pink and midnight blue. These colors are echoed  in the four corners, and repeat throughout the rug's highly detailed symmetrical design.  The backdrop is a muted shade of strawberry red, which transitions to a slightly lighter shade at times,a natural variation in dyes called abrash that occurs in handmade rugs that use only vegetable and other natural dyes. These soft reds are the canvas for the beautiful floral sprays and bouquets, urns and vines that fill the open field with shades of green and blue, adding burnt orange olive, peach, and copper to the palette.    All of this is framed by thin rows of repeating small flower and vine motifs- an ivory row, then midnight blue and fruit punch complete the frame, each one with sweet flower garlands in all the shades of the rug.  Size: 3'5"x11'5"
