This vintage Persian Hamedan runner was handmade with a tribal geometric design, intricate details and vibrant colors.  The rug has a soft sturdy pile that is great for high traffic areas and will last generations.  The fine quality wool has a sheen in the light.  The background of the rug is almost ombre with its amazing combination of colors - from watermelon, coral and strawberry red to rust and burgundy - a phenomenon of vintage handmade rugs known as abrash, where variations in color and dyes are used for the same rug.  The spectacular royal blue appears violet or purple against the pinks and reds. Accents and geometric motifs are hand-knotted in walnut, olive, pale pink and hunter green, punctuated by black and white.  The border has a charming foral and vine motif  with its own intricacies and geometric shapes.
