This is a vibrant vintage handmade fine quality Persian Hamedan runner.  Hand-knotted in the 1970s, this runner is in mint condition with a thick, dense pile and fine quality wool.  This runner is great for high traffic areas and will last generations. The repeating floral and vine motifs in vivid colors create a playful allover design in intricate detail.  The backdrop is a unique shade of red with some areas of abrash, or natural variation in dyes that occurs only in handmade vintage rugs that use natural dyes.  The details are woven in bright royal blue that appears almost violet against the red.  To complement the blue, other details are hand-knotted in soft pink lemonade, bright orange, burgundy and sky blue, punctuated by white.  The borders are a complementary series of rows, with charming small flower and diamond motifs in the same bright colors.  All colors are made from only vegetable & other natural dyes.  Size: 3'6"x10'4"
