This stunning vintage Persian Hamedan runner was hand-knotted in the 1970s and it is in mint condition. Great for high traffic areas, this tribal and floral runner is handmade with a sturdy weave that will last for generations. This is known as a "gallery size" runner for its larger size. It can also be an area rug for more narrow spaces, such as in front of a bed or a couch.  The colors are all made with vegetable and other natural dyes, and they have the unique patina that only comes from antique handmade rugs.  There are also several areas of abrash, which is the natural variation in natural dyes that only occurs in handmade vintage rugs.   Watermelon is the best way to describe the rug's main color, with a white central medallion and borders that lighten and brighten the rug. The central flower is the focal point for the rug, hand-knotted in azure blue which pops from the rug, especially as it is paired with muted shades of sea green, shell pink and coral.  These colors continue throughout the rug in delicate floral and geometric accents that fill the background and the sea green lattice-like pattern, adding sapphire and ballet slipper pink to the palette.  The border is a dramatic black ribbon framed by elegant rows of sage green, each with their own tribal floral and leaf patterns. You can get lost in the colors and details.   Size: 5'5"x11'8"
