This vibrant vintage Persian Hamedan was hand-knotted in the 1980s and it is in mint condition. Known as a gallery size runner for its broad width, this rug is great for high traffic areas, handmade with a sturdy weave that will last for generations. It can serve as a runner for hallways and entrances, and also as an area rug for narrow spaces such as in front of a couch or at the foot of a bed. The colors of this rug seem to sparkle and change in the light. All made with vegetable and other natural dyes, they have the unique patina that only comes from antique handmade rugs. There are also areas of abrash, which is the natural variation in natural dyes that only occurs in handmade vintage rugs. The backdrop is best described as watermelon, with areas that appear more strawberry in some places. The rug is brightened and lightened by the central diamond medallion and corners of ivory with shell pink, indigo blue, almond, peach and charcoal accents. The rug has an intricate floral and geometric lattice-like design in midnight blue, steel blue, sea green and charcoal, adorned by tiny motifs that echo the accent colors of the medallion. The border is a rich burgundy with its own unique playful designs in the same shades of pink and blue. You can get lost in the endless colors and details. Size: 5'1"x10'3"
