This handmade vintage Persian Hamdedan runner is both floral and geometric. It is a more tribal runner than one made in a city and it was hand-knotted in the 1970s. The runner is in mint condition and is on sale because the background appears midnight blue at first glance, but upon closer look, it is actually a subtle mix of blue and black dyes hand-knotted together in what is known as abrash - the natural variation in dyes and colors that occurs with handmade vintage rugs. It is more noticeable at certain angles and in certain light - see close up photos. The medallion and the elegant ribbons of border are hand-knotted in coral and the intricate floral details are beautiful shades of sky blue, steel blue, ballet slipper pink, sage green and taupe accents. Azure sky blue and champagne corners pop from the dark backdrop and lighten the rug. Delicate floral and vine sprays and bouquets decorate the open field and the corner. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. This runner has a full pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. Size: 3'9"x9'11"
