This handmade vintage Persian Hamedan runner is both floral and tribal and has incredibly rich colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  It was hand-knotted in the 1980s and is in mint condition.  The rug's intricate floral designs revolve around an elegant central floral medallion of black and white with colorful flower details throughout, echoed by the beautiful matching corners.  The backdrop is a warm strawberry red and the beautiful floral sprays and bouquets that fill the open field are hand-knotted with pops of color in a fantastic array of colors - royal blue is most prominent, with shell pink, mint green, khaki, white, chocolate, peach, moss green, midnight blue and countless other colors. The rug is framed by colorful ribbons of repeating small motifs- a thin row of pale khaki has a sweet flower and vine design in royal blue, moss green and red, surrounded by black thin rows with fruit punch and white and pink polka dots.   This runner is handmade with a full, soft and supple pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. Note the abrash in this runner, evident in several of the close up photos. This is the natural variation in dyes that occurs in vintage handmade rugs that use vegetable dyes. It adds an element of truly one of a kind and handmade authenticity to this beautiful piece.  Size: 3'8"x9'11"
