This fine quality vintage Persian Hamedan runner was handmade with an allover tribal pattern. Intricate details fill the rug with geometric elongated paisley-like motifs (or botehs, the ancient precursor to paisley), small flowers on the vine and other tribal designs. The rug is made with fine quality wool and a sturdy weave that is great for high traffic areas and will continue to last generations. Shades of blue make up the runner's open field, transitioning from violet to indigo to sapphire in a changing of natural dyes known as abrash, which is unique to handmade vintage natural dye rugs. The allover repeating small motifs also change color as the runner progresses, from carnation pink to watermelon, rose to red. Coral, orange, lavender, white and ballet slipper pink are used for the accents and small flowers. The border frames the runner beautifully in a deep watermelon pink with its own geometric repeating designs in bright royal blue along with silver, copper, burgundy and the other wonderful shades of the rug. All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Size: 3'7"x9'10"
