This fine quality vintage handmade Persian Hamedan runner was hand-knotted by expert tribal weavers using fine quality wool and only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The rug has an elegant series of central medallions that run the length of the runner, surrounded by  intricate floral and geometric details in a wide array of rich colors.  Strawberry red is the backdrop for diamond medallions in white and ocean blue, each one adorned with small flowers in lavender, indigo, emerald green, plum, pink and countless other colors. Small flower and tribal designs dot the red open field, sprays and bouquets of small blooms in all of the colors of the medallions plus other colors such as champagne, dusty rose, royal blue and sage green.  The border is a special part of this piece, starting with the elegant ocean blue corners and areas along the edge full of tribal petals and flowers. This leads to a white stripe with colorful small circles edged in emerald green and then a royal blue frame of colorful geometric flowers on the vine, with a final rosewood stripe of colorful small squares.
