This fine quality vintage Persian Hamedan runner was handmade with a playful and colorful allover tribal design. Intricate details fill the rug with geometric elongated paisley-like motifs (or botehs, the ancient precursor to paisley), small flowers on the vine and other tribal designs.  The rug is made with fine quality wool and a notably thick, soft, sturdy weave that is great for high traffic areas and will continue to last generations.  An inky midnight blue and black open field provides a dramatic and elegant background for the colorful details that pop against the dark backdrop.  The allover repeating paisleys are hand-knotted in candy apple red with accents and designs in indigo, tangerine, white and mulberry. These same colors create the flowering plant motifs that alternate with each paisley.  The border frames the runner beautifully in bright red with its own unique and complementary geometric designs that resemble tribal flowers and plants on the vine, in all of the  wonderful shades of the rug and an additional shade of champagne.
