This is a fine quality and elegant handmade vintage Persian Hamedan runner. Its floral and tribal design is based on antique rug designs, and it was hand-knotted with colors made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Handmade in the 1980s, this runner is made with fine quality wool and it is in mint condition.  The rug's intricate floral sprays and geometric motifs fill the watermelon red open field, revolving around a stunning series of central medallions and floral bouquets.  Tribal flowers, plants, leaves and trees are all represented, not to mention the charming small birds that appear throughout the runner.  The lush watermelon red backdrop is a perfect setting for the elegant floral sprays and geometric bouquets hand-knotted in shell pink, pale peach, boysenberry, sapphire blue, black, white, charcoal, plum, royal blue, almond, khaki and countless other colors.  The border is another special decorative feature, a white ribbon that lightens and brightens the runner, hand-knotted with a repeating geometric motif in all the colors of the runner, framed by sapphire rows of repeating small geometric motifs.
