This vintage handmade tribal Persian Hamedan runner has a classic geometric design with a row of intricate medallions bursting with detail.  It is a beautiful shade of grape, a hard to find purple color for vintage oriental rugs.  Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this rug was made with fine craftsmanship and a sturdy full pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations.  The subtle colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The purple background hosts a series of finely detailed geometric medallions down the center of the runner.  Known as 'guls', these tribal medallions often represent natural elements such as lakes or mountains.
