This one's for the purple lovers! This vintage handmade tribal Persian Hamedan runner has a classic geometric design with a row of intricate medallions bursting with detail.  It is a beautiful shade of grape, a hard to find purple color for vintage oriental rugs.  Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this rug was made with fine craftsmanship and a sturdy full pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations.  The subtle colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The purple background hosts a series of finely detailed geometric medallions down the center of the runner.  Known as 'guls', these tribal medallions often represent natural elements such as lakes or mountains. They are hand-knotted in elegant shades that complement the purple beautifully: sand, indigo blue, pink coral, rose pink, silver and peach, all punctuated by bright white and black.  These colors adorn the medallions and the purple open field, filling the rug with small geometric motifs and tribal flowers.   The deep midnight blue corners are a striking feature of this rug, edged with bright white and decorated with floral bouquets.  The border of repeating geometric motifs in all of the rug's colors is a perfect frame before the final purple edge.  The runner is in mint condition, great for kitchens and hallways, bedrooms, and living areas - anywhere with high traffic that could use comfort and color underfoot.  Size: 3'7"x10'1"
