This handmade vintage Persian Hamedan runner has an intricate tribal and floral design in a rich color palette made with only vegetable and other natural dyes. It is a very fine quality rug in mint condition, handmade with a notably thick, full, soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations. The high quality wool has a sheen to it in the light, and the weavers sewed thin leather straps on the back to keep the runner in place, a sign of quality for rugs from this part of the world. The central medallion is a champagne diamond with an elegant floral bouquet in crimson, strawberry red, silver, lemonade pink, peach, coral and shell pink. These are the colors that continue throughout the runner, creating intricate floral and tribal details surrounding a lattice-like pattern on a background of light red, with slight natural variations in color known as abrash. The champagne corners and border lighten the runner with their highly detailed tribal repeating motifs in all of the colors of the rug, framed by rows of peach and red with small garlands of tiny flowers.
