This vibrant vintage handmade tribal Persian Hamedan runner has a classic geometric design with a row of intricate medallions bursting with color and detail.   Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this rug was made with fine craftsmanship and a sturdy full pile that can withstand high traffic and will continue to last generations.  The rich rustic colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.  The strawberry red background is the perfect setting for the finely detailed row of geometric medallions that often represent natural elements such as lakes or mountains. Navy blue, wine and copper comprise the medallions, and they are adorned in tribal motifs in olive green, royal blue, mint green, taupe, rust, white, peach, rosewood and countless other colors.  These motifs continue throughout the red open field, filling the rug with small colorful geometric designs.   The ivory border lightens and brightens the runner, and shows off its colors with a charming tribal flower and vine motif, surrounded by royal blue rows of small tribal colorful paisleys known as botehs.
