This fine quality vintage Persian Hamedan runner was handmade with an allover tribal design. Intricate details fill the rug with geometric elongated paisley-like motifs (or botehs, the ancient precursor to paisley), small flowers on the vine and other tribal designs.  The rug is made with fine quality wool and a sturdy, soft weave that is great for high traffic areas and will continue to last generations.  An inky midnight blue makes up the runner's open field , a dramatic and elegant background for the details that pop against the dark backdrop.  The allover repeating paisleys are hand-knotted in tomato red with accents and designs that shift throughout the rug, in shades of sapphire, taupe, shell pink, tangerine, pale yellow, indigo, midnight blue and white. Some even appear to have exotic birds inside them.  The border frames the runner beautifully in tomato red with its own unique and complementary geometric designs that resemble tribal flowers on the vine, in all of the  wonderful shades of the rug.
