This is a unique and fine quality vintage handmade Persian Hamedan runner. Midnight blue is the dramatic backdrop for a repeating tribal flower motif surrounding a central medallion. The stunning array of hard-to-find pastel colors seem to sparkle in the light. Hand-knotted in the 1980s, this runner is in mint condition. Made of fine quality wool with a sheen to it, this village-made tribal rug has a soft and sturdy, full pile that is great for high traffic areas and will last generations. The repeating geometric motifs really pop against the midnight blue backdrop, remarkable shades made from only vegetable and other natural dyes. Soft shades of pink and blue harmonize beautifully, from salmon to dusty rose, lemonade pink to coral and shell pink, sky blue and pale turquoise. Subtle accents in peach, charcoal, silver and white accentuate the pattern. The border is an equally stunning feature of this piece, starting with the bright lemonade pink corners, leading to rows of silver surrounding a cerise pink ribbon. Each border layer has a charming repeating motif of small flowers on the vine, in all of the beautiful colors of the rug. Size: 3'6"x9'6"
