This is a vibrant vintage handmade tribal & floral Persian Hamedan runner in what's known as a "gallery size". Hand-knotted in the 1970s, this runner is in mint condition. Made of fine quality wool, this village-made tribal rug has a sturdy, thick pile that is great for high traffic areas and will last generations. The repeating geometric and floral and vine motifs in vivid colors create an allover design that is repeated again in the borders. The backdrop is a rich royal blue and the border is a bright strawberry red. The details are woven in cornflower blue, carnation pink, ballet slipper pink, rose, silver, hunter green, chocolate, sapphire and white. Two ribbons of gold with a repeating flower motif in azure blue and red frame the rug and its border. The overall effect is a sea of pinks, blues and red that appears almost purple in the light. All colors are made from only vegetable & other natural dyes. Size: 5'5"x10'6"
