This is a striking handmade tribal and geometric vintage Persian Hamedan rug that can also be a wide runner. This rug is fine quality, finely woven with precise details and soft high quality wool that makes for an extremely thick and supple pile.  The rug is great for high traffic areas - entryways, bedrooms, hallways, kitchens and dining areas, as well as children's rooms.  It will last generations. This size is versatile, either as an area rug or "gallery size" runner, named as such for its larger size and width. It can be great for foyers and hallways as well as larger narrow spaces such as in front of a couch or a bed.  The bold central tri-medallion design is a hallmark of rugs from this region and this rug stands out not only for its jewel tone colors and lush quality but for the charming  colorful stars, flowers and other geometric details.  The dramatic black background is decorated in splendid jewel tones of crimson red, emerald green, brilliant royal blue and bright orange, along with softer shades of silver and ivory.  The border is a charming trio of thick ivory and red ribbons with colorful tribal flowers on the vine adorning each one.  All colors are made from only vegetable and other natural dyes.
