This handmade vintage Persian Hamedan can be used as an area rug or a large runner, known as "gallery size".   Its versatile size makes it great for an area in front of a couch or a bed, a foyer, a child's room or a large and wide hallway.  The rug is in mint condition, handmade in the 1980s with fine quality wool and expert craftsmanship.  The intricate tribal and floral design has a beautiful ivory central medallion as its focal point with a stunning matching border, all of which lightens and brightens the rug. The floral heart of the rug is an ivory diamond shaped medallion resplendent with its jewel tone petals, leaves and small flowers. Crimson, bright sapphire blue, peach, silver, rosewood, orange, camel and shell pink harmonize beautifully, and are perfectly echoed in the ivory corners with tribal flowers in the same colors. These continue as the main accent colors throughout the rug's raspberry red backdrop. The sapphire and royal blue trellis-like motifs provide a frame for the intricate geometric shapes and small flowers that fill the rug right up to the beautiful border. The ivory border has a floral and vine pattern that matches the corners and the medallion in the same vivid colors. This is surrounded by thin crimson rows with their own charming small colorful paisley motifs known as botehs and tiny flowers on the vine.  This rug is handmade with a full and soft pile that can withstand high traffic and will last generations.  Size: 4'9"x10'1"
